Senior Pastor’s Devotional
Day 43 Movement Control Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”

Is it possible to maintain emotional health and joy despite difficult circumstances? Paul did that while he was in prison. Let s learn from him.

Yesterday, we learned that Paul was full of joy as he remember the miracles that was done in Philippi.
a. “I thank my God every time I remember you.” – Phil. 1:3

Next Paul mentioned that he has the Philippi church in his heart.
b. “since I have you in my heart…” –Phil 1:7b

Question:- Why was Paul so touched in his heart? What did the
Philippians do for him?
The church sent Epaphroditus to Paul to take care of his needs. They not only sent finance but also a person to go there to care and to lend support towards . Phil. 2:25.

Why do you think that this can bring joy to the person who is having difficulties?
The person in need will feel that he is not alone and that there are people who cares. It is very comforting to know someone cares, especially when you are in difficulties – even though the person may not be able to solve it.

At such a time as this – it is timely to show that we care.

So Paul had them in his mind; in his heart and thirdly, Paul had them in his prayer.

c. “And this is my prayer that your love may abound more and more…”
-Philip. 1:9

The deepest Christian fellowship and joy we can experience is when we are praying for one another. Paul’s prayer for them is that their love will abound even more. It was a sense of joy to see them growing in love and maturity.

Prayer support for one another is so very helpful. You never know how your prayers for others have helped and I believe that God has helped me through the prayers from various ones for me and my family.

Why is it that we will feel joyful when we see those whom we are praying/helping are maturing and growing in their faith?
We will have joy because you will feel that your sacrifices and efforts were not in vain. It brings a sense of achievement too.

I am very encouraged to hear that some of you have been helped through this prayer time; the devotional sharing and this encourages us to continue on.

Is there anything in your life that you are thankful for that you have remembered in your mind; cherished in your heart and have kept in prayer? This is your secret of rejoicing!

Ps Lawrence.
