Senior Pastor’s Devotional
Day 39 Movement Control Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”
Habakkuk 2:2-3
“Then the Lord replied: Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”
One of the most difficult season or time to live is the period of waiting – waiting for God’s answer to your prayers for some future things….waiting for a problem to end.
That period of time is sometimes known as the “wilderness” or the “desert” experience.
-It is like a period of dry spell or drought.
When we are going through this, a few things will be experienced…
*Our eyes will have a tendency to focus on what we don’t have or what seems to be missing.
*Our focus may be towards our frustration and disappointment eating us up
*Anger; negative thoughts will bombard us.
However, when we go through this season – we still can make CHOICES.
*Instead of focusing on our frustrations – we can choose to give thanks for His goodness in other things – like for example – the unhurried life ; the provisions that some of you have been enjoying, especially during this MCO.
*We can choose to murmur or we choose to change our murmur to become prayers.
*We can choose to focus at the dry season or to focus on Him in full dependence
The season of wilderness can drive us to fear; worry; frustration OR greater closeness to God; greater leaning on Him; greater learning of His Word.
What did you choose?
There is something else about the Wilderness.
-It was in the wilderness that Moses saw the Burning Bush.
-It was in the wilderness that the Israelites ate the Manna and saw the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night guiding them.
-It was in the wilderness that Joseph was shaped to become the Prime Minister of Egypt.
-It was in the wilderness experience that Saul became Paul the apostle.
There are blessings in the wilderness and desert places!
