Senior Pastor’s Devotional
Day 84 Movement Control Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”

“There before me was a door standing open in heaven.”
Revelation 4:1

Have you wished that you will be able to experience a vision of an ‘open heaven’?

We should remember that John the apostle wrote this experience while he was banished to the island of Patmos – an isolated, rocky prison. Yet it was here, under difficult circumstances – separated from all his loved ones in Ephesus, excluded from worshiping with the church and condemned – that he was granted this vision as a special privilege. It was as a prisoner that he saw “a door standing open in heaven.”

We should remember that it was in the year that King Uzziah died and while the nation was in spiritual low, chaos and transition that Isaiah ‘saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted and the train of his robe filled the temple.” (Isaiah 6:1).

We should also remember Jacob, who laid down in the desert to sleep after leaving his father’s house, facing the crisis with Esau that “he had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven and…above it stood the Lord.” (Gen.28:12-13).

In our own estimation, it seems unlikely for anyone to receive such revelations. Yet how often we have heard of others who have seen this heavenly vision – for those who are ‘prisoners and captives’; those who suffer from a chronic illness and those who are searching for the answers to their lives.

In your current struggles that you are going through, I pray that God will indeed open the windows of heaven and let us catch a glimpse of His glory and power! Like the old hymn says, “one glimpse of His dear face, all sorrow will be erased!”
