Senior Pastor’s Devotional

“And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28
A scene was recorded on how a lady came out of a local shopping center in a wheelchair. She was as happy and joyful as any mother who is fully able. In this handicapped mother’s lap sat her little boy. They were laughing and enjoying their time
As we live in a world that has been broken by mankind’s fall into sin, there will be many tragic and imperfect situations in this life. All of this life’s troubles will cease when Jesus Christ returns for all those who have put their faith and trust in Him, and accepted Him as their Savior and Lord. As the Word declares, “the corruptible must put on incorruption; mortal must put on immortality.”
In the meantime, however, in thinking about the handicapped women in the wheelchair, in so many of life’s situations, life can become beautiful for many who have major setbacks in their life when they daily commit and trust their life to Jesus Christ. In doing so, the Lord will enable us to transform our mind and thinking to see things differently and learn to make the very best with what they have, in spite of what they do not have. This reminds me of people like Joni and Nick Vijusic who indeed made their life beautiful despite of the serious flaws in their body!
As someone once said, “I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes – until I met a man who had no feet!” Your situation may actually be not as bad as it looks especially when you learn to ask the Lord to touch you with His grace.
