Senior Pastor’s Devotional
Day 30 Movement Control Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”

Yesterday, the 15th April and today are very special days for the Israelites.

In history, yesterday was the 7th day of the Passover. It was the night that the Israelites experienced the miracle of seeing the Red Sea being parted before their eyes after leaving Egypt.

For 7 days, since the night of the Passover they were told to eat unleavened bread. (Exodus 13:6) Unleavened bread is without yeast. Yeast has often been a symbol of sin. The eating of the unleavened bread is a reminder for them to stay away from sins.

Today – it is the 8th day since the Passover and they have safely crossed over to the Red sea which took about 9 hours for them to complete the crossing over. (from 6 pm to 3 am).
From Egypt to the Red Sea – it was a scary journey as they have just been released from the bondage of Pharaoh.

Facing the Red Sea was also scary BEFORE the Lord parted it for them to cross.

Your journey right now may be likened to coming to the Red Sea – you are facing it or will be facing it. It comes in the form of your job; your business or your future. The Red Sea can be your place of fear or the place of your miracle!

We have to persevere, trust Him and believe what the Lord has for you in the coming days is the best that is for you.

Yesterday, we started to learn about prayer being a 2 way communication and therefore, we want to learn to hear God’s voice.

How does God speak to us? ALL of us has actually heard God speaking to us at different times and different places.

1. The Bible.
The Bible is not just another book. It is the Word of God!“All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Tim.3:16.
God speaks THROUGH his Word.

He can speak to us through the “LOGOS” Word – which is the written word- the general Bible that we have which contain the principles for daily living.

Because He speaks to us primarily through the written word; we have to read the Word, selecting from the Old and the New Testament.

Read it even though you may not fully understand. In doing so, you are building a ‘well” The Holy Spirit will draw from this ‘well” of His Word that you have read and the Holy Spirit will use different words to speak into your circumstances.

Why is it that for some, it is rare for you to hear God’s voice? It is simply because you have an “empty well” when you fail to read His Word consistently.

Next, we have the “Rhema” Word. It is a special revelation that ‘pops up”. It is the “NOW” Word that is for that particular time or season. It is like the revelation of the Red Sea that I shared about. It is so timely for us in this season that we are going through.

Then, thirdly, God speaks through the preaching and teaching of the Word that you receive.

Acts 2:36-37
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to peter and the other apostles, “Brothers what shall we do?”

Have you encountered hearing Him through all of these?
