Senior Pastor’s Devotional
Day 31 Movement Control Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”

This morning, I was reminded of John 4:23 – God is looking for worshippers who would worship Him in spirit and in truth.

God does not want to be worshipped out of fear; obligation or religious duty or ritual. These were our old form and ways of worship and we must be reminded to adopt the new attitudes.

“In spirit and in truth” means worship must be from the depths of our being and the truthfulness and sincerity of our hearts.

Loving your heavenly Father. Do you know how to do that – to love Him whom you have not seen? Sometimes it may be difficult but you can try one way and that is to touch base with how you love your mum or dad; spouse or children.

As you sense the love when you think of any of them, think of your heavenly Father. Link that love and beyond that – and you will begin to learn to love Him too.

We have started the lesson on how to hear God’s voice. How does He speak to us?

1. The Bible/His Word.

2. Guidance through Circumstances.

a. Acts 10:1-47 – the experience that Peter had with Cornelius.

Three Providences of Circumstances that God used to direct Peter.
* The Vision of the Wild animals.
* The appearance of the three men;
These were confirmation that God wants him to go to Cornelius house.

*The infilling of the Holy Spirit.
This was the confirmation that it was God’s timing to reach the Gentiles.

b. Gideon. Judges 6:36-40.

God spoke to Gideon by circumstance.
Gideon requested that the fleece to be an instrument that God will use to confirm that He has called him to be a leader for Israel.
1st time – fleece wet – ground will be dry.
2nd time –fleece dry – ground will be wet.

God fulfilled those requests and Gideon received the confirmation.

Does it mean that when we have confirmation from the leading of the Holy Spirit and the Guidance of His Word but we encounter a closed door, then it is not God’s will?

Not necessary so. We must wait upon Him and trust that God will open the door at the right timing. Joseph will be a fine example. It was 13 years later after the dream, that God opened the door to fulfil what He has spoken to him in a dream.
