Senior Pastor’s Devotional
Day 6 Movement Restriction Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”

John 16:33

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Jesus foretold his disciples what was going to happen was for the purpose that they will not be taken by surprise and anxiety.

To be forewarned is to be prepared and assured.

A few things to take note of in this very assuring verse.

Jesus said, “In me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble.” Which side are you in? “In Him or “In the world.”

When we place ourselves ‘in the world’ and enveloped by the conditions; environment; perspective; mindset and the news of this world – the result is obvious and that is a ‘troubled heart.’

But when we place ourselves ‘in HIM’ sailing with Him in a boat that is buffeted by the wind and the storms, then we will still have peace in our hearts because our faith is upon Him who is in control. His Words; perspective; truth that occupy our mind will not allow the trouble to dominate us.

“It is one thing for the bird to fly over our head and it is another thing when we allow the bird to build a nest on our head.” This is the difference of placing ourselves “in Him” or “in the world”.

I like the Chinese translation of ‘take heart’ – I have overcome the world.
The words “take heart’ in the Chinese translation is more assuring – where it is translated as, ‘rest assured’ 放心

Yes, we can rest assured for He has overcome the world and no fear shall overcome us. Let it just fly over your head!

Ps Lawrence.
