Day 81 Movement Control Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Phil. 4:8

During the early days of the “MCO”, many of our hearts were heavy and anxious. Many were experiencing a level of anxiety we have never felt before especially when we read news like “U.S. Death Toll Exceed 10,000”; ‘More than 2 million will be jobless!” etc.

After a bit of reflection on the scripture verses above, the culprit for our anxiety becomes clear. Rather than filling our mind with the truth of the scriptures, we were filling our mind with anxiety inducing news! The key to what grips us is what we are choosing to think about!

The Word of God teaches us to take control of our thoughts so that the Lord can free us from our anxieties and fears. Of course we need to be informed about critical things going on around us but that does not mean that we need to be reading, watching or listening to the news for hours on end.

Pause for a while and evaluate what we have been feeding our mind on; how much time we have allowed news to fill our thoughts.

May we be the ones filling our mind with things that are “true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praise worthy” so that “He can keep us in perfect peace whose mind is focused on Him (Isaiah 26:3)

Try replacing your thoughts by reading the book of Psalms and you will see and feel the difference!
