Senior Pastor’s Devotional
Day 50 Movement Control Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”

SCRIPTURES TO READ:- PHILIPPIANS 2:12-18.
LESSON TO BE LEARNT: A LIFE THAT BRINGS JOY AND DELIGHT TO GOD.

We bring our daily prayer requests to God and also ask God to give us joy, peace and other blessings. What about the other way round? Have you considered how you may be pleasing and a delight to God?

In this passage, Paul was teaching how our changed lives will be able to shine like stars ((verse 15) and that his labour will not be in vain and that we will fulfil God’s good purposes.

Here, we learn 3 steps to achieve that:-

Step 1 – Work out your salvation.
-Don’t be uncertain and being not serious about our commitment
to God.

Step 2 – “Living the Changed Life.”
-Verses 14 and 15 can be regarded “characters of a person who is saved.”

“Do everything without complaining or arguing.”
Philippians 2:14

-Don’t be like the children of Israel in their desert journey whereby all complaints and arguments were resulted by their spirit of self-centeredness and being unable to submit.

The world’s philosophy is that happiness comes by getting what you want. Some people will use with whatever means, even shoving people aside and climbing on top of them to achieve that

The example of Jesus is proof enough that the world’s philosophy is wrong. He never used a sword yet He won the greatest battle against sin, death and hell.

He used love to overcome hatred; He used truth to overcome lies. Because He surrendered, He was victorious!

Just like the stars, they shine brightest in the dark night, the born again believer’s changed life will shine in the dark world.

STEP 3 – “Hold Fast to the Word of Life.”

“holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”
Philippians 2:16

When we hold fast to the Word of Life; we are likened to holding fast to the teachings of our parents.
-Just as it please our parents – we bring joy to our heavenly Father.

Holding fast to His Word will keep us within His Will and fulfill His purposes.

Holding fast to His Word will keep us from falling into sin.

Holding fast to His Word will helps us to go through tough times like these- giving us peace, joy and hope.

-Are you experiencing it?

Conclusion:- When we submit ourselves to these guiding principles, we glorify God and also live a life of joy.
