Day 93 Movement Control Order – “Strategic Psalm 91 Watch”
“But he who has a glad heart has a continual feast (regardless of the circumstances).”
Proverbs 15:15
Dr. Paul Tournier, a well known Swiss physician pointed out that, ‘health depends to a large extend on mental attitudes as well as upon the spiritual condition of a person.
Today, ‘anxiety is the great modern plague’ says Dr Smiley Blanton.
When Solomon wrote the verse, he wrote it to teach his people how to live and how to act in every circumstances. Solomon often reveals the truth by contrasting it with the opposite viewpoint. For instance in Proverbs 15:15 (Amp), we read “All the days of the desponding afflicted are made evil by anxious thoughts and foreboding but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast (regardless of the circumstances)”
Each day we have a CHOICE. Proverbs 15:13 says, “A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” No wonder Solomon declares that a “happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing but a broken spirit dries the bones.” (Prov. 17:22)
Can you think of at least 5 things that you can be thankful for? Things like for example, good health; a job; a bundle of joy that the Lord has bless you with; a understanding and supportive spouse; a harmonious (though not perfect) family?
May the joy of the Lord be your strength!
