Bible College of Malaysia
MINISTRY REPORT FOR 2022
On behalf of Bible College of Malaysia, I would like to thank the Senior Pastor, Rev. Lawrence Yap and every member of Charis Christian Centre for your mission’s support to BCM. Your faithful support and prayer have enabled us to continue with this ongoing ministry of equipping ministers.
Here are some updates of our college:
1. Graduation
We had an excellent 60th Graduation Exercises. 43 students graduated on 9 April 2022. We also had our first Doctor of Ministry graduate this year. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the training of ministers continues. Here is the link to the live-stream record of the graduation service: https://youtu.be/olmNA7h1a-A .
2. Enrolment
Praise God for the opportunity to train 380 students in the first trimester and another 387 students in the second trimester. We hope to train more students, especially full-time students (currently there are only 12 full-time students). We continue to offer hybrid classes, where students can choose to study in our campus or via online Zoom.
The Global University program is offered in BCM for those who prefer to study via distance learning with a US-based institution. It is open to all believers, especially to those who desire to have a deeper knowledge of God and require flexible time to study. From January to July of 2022, we have an enrollment of 56 students. In March 2022, we also presented the Christian Service Diploma (Bahasa Malaysia) Certificates to 16 students in El-Shaddai AG Permatang Pauh.
3. Faculty Development
We are glad that Dr Eva Wong has completed her PhD in Theology (Pentecostal Studies) from the Oxford Centre of Mission Studies. We request that you pray for our faculty and staff members who are undergoing their study programs. Rev. Andrew Lim is still working on the first draft of the PhD thesis. Sister Avis Ng is progressing in her PhD in Clinical Christian Counseling. Sister Szu Yee, our head librarian, is working through the modules of the Master of Library and Information Science. Pastor Andrew Lau is currently working on the modules in Master of Theology.
4. Financial report
We received RM1,137,502.00 (including academic contributions and love offerings) from 1st January to 31st July 2022. We have a few additional individual donors that contributed to the increase of love offering for this year. We need more funds to meet the demands of rising costs and inflation. We are thankful and grateful for your partnership with BCM all these years in this ministry of training labourers for the harvest field.
5. Building Project
We are now in the midst of the tendering process. It is estimated that construction will begin in September/October this year. The project is expected to cost RM13 million. Presently, we have accumulated RM4,929,252.00 in the building fund. This is the biggest project that BCM has ever taken so far. These facilities will be able to accommodate more students, overseas lecturers, and guests to stay in the campus. We will have a proper library for our students to do research. The multi-purpose hall has a seating capacity of about 250 people. These facilities will be crucial to facilitate the expansion and growth of BCM to serve the Church.

6. Prayer Requests
It is our constant prayer request that churches and individuals will pray for BCM faculty, staff and student body. Our goal is to train men and women whose lives will demonstrate depth in spirituality and excellent skills in practical ministry.
Pray that God will direct many more for full-time ministry in these days we live in. Pray for an increase in student enrolment, and for more financial support to meet the operational cost of the College.
May you be richly blessed in every way.
