“Thou has enlarged me when I was in distr ess.” Psalm 4:1 KJV.
This verse is one of the greatest Christian truth that we should learn in regards to God’s work in us during times of crisis.
It is a positive statement whereby we can be set free from the dread of going through troubles. The Psalmist is declaring that the sorrows and challenges of life have themselves been the source of life’s blessings. We are ‘enlarged’ in our capacity and ability through the troubles of life!
There are two ways of getting out of a trial. One is simply to try to get rid of the trial and then to be thankful when it is over. The other is to recognize the trial as a challenge from God to claim a larger blessing than we have ever before experienced and to accept it with delight as an opportunity of receiving a greater measure of God’s divine grace and revelation.
Someone once said of Joseph that when he was thrown into the dungeon, “iron entered his soul.” And the strength of iron is exactly what he needed. He had been rejoicing in youthful dreams and mere dreams will get him nowhere! We all need the iron in life to enlarge our character. Your life will be enlarged in proportion to the amount of iron you have endured!
If Joseph had never been Egypt’s prisoner, he would have never been Egypt’s governor. The iron chain that bound his feet brought about the golden chain around his neck! (Anonymous)
The Lord bless you even though you are going through your troubles and I pray that something beautiful will be coming soon.
