Empowering the orang asli through education, healthcare and community development

THE ORANG ASLI MINISTRY

The Orang Asli initiative in Hulu Langat started end of 2010 as an outreach project. The project has a 3-prong approach which includes:

  • Education

The team conducts Bahasa Melayu, English and Mathematics tuition classes for the children. Each week an average of 24 children attend the class. The purpose is to encourage the children to continue their studies after primary school. We help the Orang Asli children to be the recipients of the Skim Simpanan Pendidikan National (SSPN), and education programs.

  • Community Development

The team encourages the Orang Asli families to produce agricultural products for their livelihood. Different types of fruit trees and tools are provided for them. Families are assisted and registered to the relevant government welfare.

  • Healthcare

The team holds healthcare day for the Orang Asli families providing basic healthcare products.
